CMG Cunningham Dickey Solicitors

From 1 June 2015 the long established practices of CMG Solicitors and Cunningham & Dickey Solicitors have amalgamated. The new firm will be known as CMG Cunningham Dickey, and will practice from 18-20 May Street, Belfast, Belfast and 3 Market Street, Bangor.

The process of amalgamation has underlined the complementary nature of the business ethos and clientele of each firm and the partners all hope that the new firm of CMG Cunningham Dickey will continue to deliver excellent legal advice to our combined clientele.

CMG clients will know that that firm can trace its origins to the practice of William Graham & Son in High Street, Newtownards which had an office in 1910. The William Graham practice merged with the practice of Eric Morrow & Co to form Morrow Graham and in turn that practice then amalgamated with Carnson Gilbert & Neill to become Carnson Morrow Graham, later shortened to CMG Solicitors.

The practice of Cunningham & Dickey stretches back in Belfast to 1860 and accordingly each firm has a long history covering Belfast and North Down and beyond. We hope that the new firm will continue to meet the legal needs of all of our clients.

The new firm’s private client department will advise about Wills, Trust and Wealth Management. Each firm is highly regarded for the effective and comprehensive conveyancing service it offers to its clients.

Clients who have personal injury claims or medical negligence claims will continue to be represented by the firm’s litigation lawyers. The amalgamation will strengthen the firm’s matrimonial and children’s law advice and representation.

The firm will act for many of the leading residential housing developers in Northern Ireland and has significant experience in creating joint ventures between landowners and developers and concluding planning agreements under planning legislation.

Business acquisitions and disposals, commercial litigation, medical negligence claims, sports law and personal and corporate insolvency advice will all be offered by CMG Cunningham Dickey.

CMG Cunningham Dickey is a member of World Link for Law, a leading network of international law firms and as a result we have professional contacts with lawyers in many diverse countries across the world.

The firm is also hugely experienced in disputes resolution and mediation. Partner Brian Speers is regarded as a ‘pioneer’ of the use of mediation to resolve disputes and lectures extensively and internationally about mediation.
